Electrochemical Laboratory
Our activity:
The Electrochemical Laboratory carries out work in the field of separation of metals from post-process solutions of the copper and zinc industry, obtained as a result of the processing and recovery of other metals in technological lines.
It specializes mainly in the recovery and electrodeposition of lead from leaching solutions, including those containing mineral acids, carboxylic acids and alkalis.
The research includes determining the impact of selected additives on the quality of the obtained products.
New materials for the electrochemical market
The Laboratory also conducts research on the properties of materials used in supercapacitors operating in alkaline and acidic aqueous environments.
The laboratory specializes in the preparation and modification of electrode materials using porous carbon materials (graphite, graphene, activated carbons, chars, carbon gels) – double layer capacitors (EDLC).
The subject of research is also the synthesis of pseudocapacitive materials based on selected non-ferrous metals – salts, oxides and oxo-hydroxides of metals. Metal precursors and carbon matrices can also be heat treated in a tube furnace in an inert, oxidizing and reducing gas atmosphere.
